Leading talent with experience as a professional photographer and a visual effects artist with substantial visual effects experience covering a diverse spectrum of the feature film business. The ability to blend photo creativity in a technical space has enabled me to produce the highest quality visual effects for film.

Photographer

My first passion is photography and started with ten years as a freelancer for Time, Newsweek, Readers Digest, Parade Magazine, The Boston Globe, Cinefex and The National Geographic. Photography will always be a part of my life and I continue to take pictures while traveling to other countries and working on movie sets.

Visual Effects Artist

Visual effects is my second passion. I came across a visual effects community in Massachusetts during the late 90’s, when I received a photo assignment from Cinergi. The photo assignment evolved into working with industry legends Joel Hynek and Doug Trumbull on various film projects as a photographer and then as a compositor. I was hooked the first time I saw Jeff Williams compositing on Stargate. The next five years were spent at Cinergi/Mass Illusion being the studio photographer for all press related issues, video work, roto scoping, and finally compositing. One opportunity led to another, whether it was helping to build the first bullet time rig and working on the first bullet time composites for The Matrix or helping develop the paint concepts for What Dreams May Come. My career took me to Los Angeles to work at Cinesite on various films as a compositor. After Cinesite, I had the pleasure of working for Peter Strernlict at Rainmaker and learned on set VFX supervision. My next move was to Rhythm and Hues and then on to Digital Domain doing compositing on various films but my plan was always to work for the best, Industrial Light and Magic (ILM). After a decade of knocking on ILM's door, I began working there in 2001 and am still with the company to this day.

At ILM I have had the opportunity to learn from the best in the world. Ive had the honor to composite nearly 50 films and counting. Ive also done on set match move supervising and production stills, vfx supervising, plate photography for various disciplines. I have had the privilege to work with the very best visual effects supervisors at ILM, including John Knoll, Dennis Muren, Scott Farrar, Roger Guyette, Jeff White, Bill George, Craig Hammock and Pablo Helman. Throughout my career I have logged more than seven hundred days on set and worked closely with the following directors: Michael Bay (9 films), Brett Leonard, DJ Curruso, Duncan Jones, John Favreau, Guillermo del Torro and Peter Berg (two films). Having the opportunity to work along side great vfx supervisors and directors, sometimes covering as a vfx supervisor on both first and second units, shooting helicopter plates as well as publicity stills has been an exhilarating experience. It has been an honor to work in the industry and experience the entire film process starting with pre visual concepts, to shooting on set, to the final film end product. To date I have worked on 23 Oscar nominated films and 4 Oscar winners totaling 70 films.
